Know a lot of people had their hopes riding on AnimeJapan giving us anything after Kimura said he didn't even know when the next episode is (thank you Netflix for running roughshod on David Production). Well, mark your calendars for some time in the next 9 months lmao

It would be nice if they were a bit more specific with their date, but I’m not going to freak out like a lot of the JoJo fanbase is. Entitled babies.

People will complain no matter what they are offered. I'd rather DavidPro have a more relaxed release schedule than being pressured to release episodes on a set time.

Yeah, I'm definitely on board with an OVA style release cadence if they can do this level of quality. They did a terrific job keeping so many of the horse shots hand animated.

I mean, they've mentioned how much of a problem all the horses are for a while now, right? I don't get why it's a surprise they had to slow down to deliver, as opposed to just letting them look crappy to kick it out the door.

Well, excuse me for being frustrated that a show I was looking forward to only got a single episode out the door before being put on a semi-indefinite hiatus.

At least Stone Ocean got 12 episodes out before its 9 month break. If this break is potentially that long, they should've just waited until more episodes were ready before starting.

I'm sorry, but I fail to see how wanting this to be a normal-ass TV series I can watch every week with my friends like every single pre-Netflix part suddenly counts as "entitled."

Ok I wasnt aware of this OVA-style release for SBS. I was actually waiting for the next episode the following week like yknow.... how almost every other anime has done since the start of the season. But then again, i get that animating a global horse race would probably be exceedingly difficult & would require a lot of time to do well. So if this is their choice, then so be it. I just hope its not too long of a wait to the point where they'd have to put in like 5 min long recap to get everyone on the same page again.

The entitlement comes from the violent rhetoric I’m seeing about Netflix and the insistence by fans that Netflix is to blame or that SBR is somehow ruined for them now.

It’s ridiculous and undignified overreaction. It makes me not want to be a part of the fandom anymore.

Wow, old fashioned OVA’s, complete with the erratic OVA release schedule. This is almost a throwback.

IIRC, WB (Japan) did similar strategy with Strike the Blood. Although in this case, dunno who makes the decision: DP, WB, or Netflix.

The regrettable thing about Netflix not being a living being is that it can't be murdered.

The current rumor is that the different stages are going to be released in batches up through 2028 (with the upcoming batch being 11 episodes). Which wouldn't be an OVA format, it's just their Stone Ocean release schedule but handled even worse

Actually it can. It simply requires them to lose enough money that the owners pull the plug on it. Like what happened to Crackle.

I'm okay with the OVA format if each release adapts events from each leg of the race from destination to destination with each episode. Meaning they are 1- under 2 hour episodes each.
