On some level, I get it, since it's a business and committing the same resources to parts of the business that don't generate enough revenue to pay for it doesn't work out. But, it also makes you question whether this new plan has any chance of working. The things being removed are things that the talents mostly couldn't do themselves. If they are basically being treated like indies and the main benefit is the ongoing use of the IP, then I hope the cut that Cover takes from things like super chats is drastically reduced to match the drastic reduction in support.

Who’s to say the same thing won’t befall the EN boys in the future?

They've been pretty up front about that. It hasn't affected them yet, but they are very aware it could. Some are trying to be optimistic and want to push to show their value, but they've been pretty vocal about how much this sucks. From what they've said, they knew this was coming for a while, but not until after some of the EN boys had moved to Japan.
