Twin Engine really determined to have another potential hit on their hands this year after Cosmic Princess Kaguya.

Already liking the fact that is inspired by Princess Knight.

Don't like the character design, compared to the manga.

Now this right here is a very interesting idea. And could cause very interesting reactions in the anime fandom.

I had a feeling this was gonna be a netflix movie when I saw the teaser but i had no idea it would be based on something
Doesn’t seem like its a direct adaptation though, more based on. So the different artstyle isn’t an issue for me (plus, Mochizuki Kei and Yoneyama Mai are both amazing artists. The character design is in good hands)

It feels like the Megalobox to Princess Knight’s Tomorrow’s Joe, a loose reimagining of the concept.

Thought I Wanna Be Your Ghost was great (Plantopia not so much, but that has the baggage of being a weird multimedia thing with a bunch of cooks in the kitchen) so I'm excited to see what Igarashi is cooking

Love the design and I certainly hope that this treads the same path of narrative modernization that Chou Kaguya-hime did.

I'm mildly curious since I love Tezuka's stuff and Princess Knight in particular is one of my favorites, but hate that it's going to Netflix. Hopes raised and dashed expertly and all that.

Just as a small correction the article has the wrong date for the Princess Knight version localized by Kodansha. The Shojo Club version from the '50s had one chapter translated by Viz back in Shojo Beat magazine and Nakayoshi's version is from the '60s (and is the one brought over by Vertical/Kodansha). It's not just a republishing of the same content and has totally different panels and art. Tezuka redrew multiple different Princess Knight versions, and the Nakayoshi one is the second version.

This looks to have potential to be interesting and I'm glad they're exploring more of Tezuka's works besides just Astro Boy.

I’d be interested to see Tezuka’s style done with modern animation tools, so a bit disappointed that’s not what this production is going for.
