I thought fujoshi are boys-love fangirls, not female otaku.

The manga uses the term fujoshi — not in the original meaning of a boys-love otaku, but in the latest shift of the meaning to female otaku in general.

Oh this should be interesting.

If it's good I hope they bring it over. The manga that is. But I want to check out the show as well. I'm sure it's comical.

Thanks for the explanation, Egan Loo. I think I might check this series out now.

Very Happy I love the Noitamina series. Unfortunately they don't always get the love and respect they deserve stateside.

This sounds rather interesting, I'll keep an eye out for it. Anyone know what season it'll come out it? Fall perhaps since spring is rather close for new announcements....

Hmm, I don't think spring is too close for announcements. Not that many were announced so far, and I believe it was the same thing with the past season. Hopefully it does come out next season, since it looks interesting. And spring definitely needs a lot of titles I'm interested in, since most 24 episode *cough* garbage series (looking at about 3-4) I'm keeping up with from the previous season are gonna end. Oh, the torture shall not last forever. (Sayonara Kiddy Girl, Kobato, Inuyasha, Kimi ni Todoke, Letter Bee, Bantorra, Railgun).

Ooh, a show centered on female otaku? Being one myself (more or less), I'm intrigued. I've enjoyed most of what's aired in the Noitamina slot, so I'll probably check this one out too.

Sounds interesting enough. And I've got something of a soft spot for anime that feature otaku as characters.

It has a interesting consept and if done right, might turn out to be a good anime adaptation of the manga.

Wow, I'm extremely interested. You don't see many animes focusing on female otaku. Us chicks need recognition, too, ya know lol

Does anyone know if this series references any other anime and manga?

edit: I just remembered that there are anime focusing on female otaku. What I meant to say was "you don't see many animes focusing on female otaku created by female otaku" Usually the ones that do have a female otaku protagonist are there for moe, fanservice and the like which are usually intended for male audiences (i.e. Lucky Star and Haruhi) and this one seems like its for female audiences, albeit probably still enjoyable by both female and male fans

Should I be offended that simply liking anime gives others the right to call me a "fujoshi"?
