Haven't been into AoT in awhile, but I was going to get this because I'm a huge fan of Range Murata and his beautiful cover art instantly made me stop in my tracks lol. Maybe for Christmas when I have time to read this.

Me Too!! And to keep this from being a "pointless one-liner" I'd say that the Titans have hit a chord in Japan because they are creepier versions of Giant Fighting Robots. Except the giggling and skipping one "rampaging" in the second (or third?) episode of the anime. He was just hilarious (oh, noes!).

Having already been a huge fan of AoT, that was the extra push I needed as well to think about picking this up.

Attack on Titan has got to be the most horrifying horror anime I've seen and I have no doubt this light novel is equally horrifying. There is just something about the Titans that is uniquely horrifying as the article says. With their facial expressions and being almost human, they are in the "uncanny valley", and the way they mindlessly seek out to eat humans as their sole objective, even though they don't even need food to survive and get their energy from sunlight instead like plants do, just makes them all the more horrific.
