When I went to college in the U.S., I brought a lot of manga with me. And there, I recommended BokuTama(Please Save My Earth) to my friend (another Japanese girl; she liked manga, too, but she was a Margaret girl, not Hana to Yume), and she really got into it.
After she came back to Japan, she said that she bought the whole series and read it over and over again She's now working as a counselor in Tokyo, and I just got an e-mail from her saying that she and one of her clients were talking manga, and she raved about BokuTama. After he went home, he apparently bought the first few books, and guess what? His wife got hooked. And before he knew it, she'd gotten the whole series Now, my friend's trying to get him hooked on Banana Fish |

Yes, I have gotten on of my friends hooked She still denies that she's hooked, though. She claims she just reads it because she doesn't have a good book to read right now.

Most of the manga I have, all my friends enjoy. The thing is, when they discover a few series, they think they know all. That's the one thing I dislike: people who think that they know everything about manga when they only read a couple of series.

Seeing that several of my friends nag me with "Do you have the new Blade of the Immortal? The new Vagabond? The new OMG?" every time I see them, I would say yes. There are many other books as well. I've shown my friends, who for the most part only liked manga after the TP boom, alot of my old Viz and DH stuff and they really liked them, despite often going into the manga with prejudices.

Oh yea, my greatest achievement would be getting my literature teacher last year addicted to Akira and Nausicaa.

I've gotten my sister hooked on manga through Model and Kill Me, Kiss Me. She would never try manga except through that, oh and (a little off topic) I've gotten a bunch of people hooked on anime. I must add though that, a lot of you guys have gotten me hooked on certain titles as well, thanks

lol this happens very often, I hooked my cousin with Ayashi no Ceres Manga, because she's into grrly things, after that she was a rabid Shoujo manga fan, like I alwasy say to her, I created a monster. . . a shoujo manga reading monster, and she got some of her friends to read it too. . . since most of her friends are girly gurls. . . and the chain never stops
