Marginal Service not even ranking (and getting bafflingly low scores from the few people voting for it) is really mystifying. It's so good! What's not to like!? A pop star named Rubber Suit is making drugs by microwaving random mushrooms with a crystal skull!

I was convinced Oshi no Ko was going to be number 1 in both charts. In the cummulative I get Vinland Saga and Skip and Loafer being more popular than Oshi no Ko, but not Birdie Wing.

Don't give me wrong, Birdie Wing is a fun show, but I never imagined it could be that popular.

Marginal Service is weird, really. It only get a small burst of attention solely because of the very first KV, but then got zero talk with everything that came after. The anime is fun enough, but it feels directionless. I do agree that the ratings I've seen in most places feel way too harsh.

It's been pretty beloved since season 1 episode 1, from what I've seen. And as much as I love OnK, judging from the reputations of all the other three… yeah, fair.

To be fair, this season is packed with quite a few strong contenders, so I don't think it really matters, as the differences between those scores are marginal at best. Besides, this and popularity are different matters, see any Shounen Jump adaptations on this list, those are almost always going to be super popular regardless of the scores.

But I'm glad I picked well, at least of the shows I'm actively watching (G-Witch, Skip and Loafer, Heavenly Delusion), all 3 are a great watch for different reasons. But this list is also a litmus test for potential dark horses as well: like seeing how Yuri is My Job is rapidly rising made me curious, I might check that one out after all.
