The preview song for the upcoming episodes mimic the opening theme to the 80's American TV show Airwolf in a similar fashion as the original season's preview music had mimicked The A-Team theme.

Misa, Raito and L from DEATH NOTE make a cameo in episode 6

Also in episode 6, there's a dancing sloth that's covering Gates' crotch. That is the same sloth found in Air TV, another series animated by Kyoto Animation.

Also in episode 6, along with L, Light, and Misa, Light's father is also visible. This scene occurs outside the hair salon where Sousuke is taken by Kaname and Kyoko.

In Episode 7, where Chidori is talking about shocking Sousuke when he does something bad, is similar to how Kagome tames Inuyasha in "Inuyasha". Also, Chidori and Kagome are both played by the same seiyuu.
