Thermae Romae Comedy TV Anime's Cast, Staff Revealed

The official website for the Thermae Romae television anime was updated this weekend to reveal the voice cast:
- FROGMAN as Lucius
- Hiroki Touchi as Marcus
- Akio Ohtsuka as Hadrianus
- Tetsu Inada as Planning Office Head
- Naoya Uchida as Old Guy at the Public Bath
- Hiroshi Shirokuma as Consul Lepidus
- Kana Ueda as Yamaguchi (Showroom Woman)
- Asa Ueno as Narrator
Azuma Tani (Haiyoru! Nyaruani: Remember My Mr. Lovecraft, Honto ni Atta! Reibai-Sensei) is directing this adaptation of Mari Yamazaki's Thermae Romae comedy manga at DLE Inc. (Eagle Talon). Tani is also co-writing the anime with Mamoru Nakano, and Toshimitsu Takechi is serving as character designer and animation director. Koutarou Yamawaki is the Flash animation director. The all-female band chatmonchy is performing the theme song "Thermae Roman."
Thermae Romae is a comedy about Lucius — an architect of public bath houses (thermae) in ancient Rome — who time-travels to various modern-day baths in Japan. Through manga and essay passages, Yamazaki explores the two cultures in the world "that have loved baths the most: the Japanese and the Romans!" Yamazaki launched the manga in 2008, and the third compiled book volume shipped on April 25.
The anime will premiere on January 12, 2012. It will be the first Flash anime (and first three-episode series) in Fuji TV's late-night Noitamina programming slot. The separate live-action film will open on April 28.
