To-Love Ru Darkness Mini-Panties Phone Straps Offered in Japan

The online shop for the Animate retailer is currently accepting pre-orders for a box of eight different To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness-themed cellphone straps — that each come attached with a pair of mini underwear. Each of the straps feature an image of one of the manga and anime's female characters, and also comes with a 5 x 2.8-centimeter (about 2 x 1.1-inch) pair of white underwear made of cloth. Each mini-underwear includes a printed quote from the character. The characters featured on the straps are Momo, Yami, Mea, Lala, Haruna, Nana, Mikan, and Yui. Animate is selling the straps in sets of eight for 5,040 yen (US$54). The straps will ship on May 16.
Additionally, Animate is also selling "Yami's Taiyaki-Styled Steamed Buns" (see gallery below), which are a favorite food of the character Yami. One box contains eight taiyaki sweet buns as well as one of three Yami bromide art cards for 840 yen (US$9.00). The taiyaki will ship on April 4 in Japan.
Saki Hasemi and Kentarō Yabuki's original To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness manga inspired a television anime adaptation last year, which Sentai Filmworks licensed and The Anime Network streamed in North America. The manga also bundled an anime DVD last year, and will bundle two more anime DVDs when the eighth and ninth compiled volumes of the manga ship on August 19 and December 4 respectively.
