Magazine Showcases Railroads of your name., In This Corner of the World, More Anime

The December issue of Yama-kei Publishers' Tabi to Tetsudō (Trips and Railroads) magazine included the "Anime to Tetsudō" (Anime and Railroads) feature when it shipped on Saturday. The feature, which is the magazine's second on anime, highlights 84 anime and the railways and trains that appear in them.

The feature includes an introduction to the world of anime with beautiful railroads. Six of Makoto Shinkai's works get special attention in the feature: your name., Voices of a Distant Star, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, 5 Centimeters Per Second, Children Who Chase Lost Voices, and The Garden of Words. Sunao Katabuchi's In This Corner of the World and Mai Mai Miracle, as well as Mamoru Hosoda's Summer Wars also appear.

The feature's railroad anime pilgrimage section showcases Love Live! Sunshine!!, Girls und Panzer, AnoHana, The Anthem of the Heart, and Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! alongside the real-world railroads depicted in them. The issue also notes 36 other anime with memorable railroad scenes. In addition, the issue introduces real world train-wrapping campaigns and stamp rallies and includes an interview with Galaxy Express 999 creator Leiji Matsumoto.

The upcoming Godzilla: Kaijū Wakusei anime film is also inspiring a train-based tourism campaign in November and December.
