Odex To Return to Singapore DVD Market

A representative of Singaporean anime licensor Odex has confirmed online that Odex will release Fullmetal Alchemist on region 3 DVD.

Due to licensing restrictions that bar Odex from releasing and English dubs of Fullmetal Alchemist in Singapore before it is released in North America, the Odex DVDs will only be subtitled.

The Fullmetal Alchemist DVDs are a market test, if they are successful Odex may release more DVDs, otherwise they will return to releasing only VCDs.

Ideally Odex hopes to keep this schedule for DVD releases:

-Burst Angel ep.1-12 (Aug)
-Chrono Crusade ep.1-12 (Aug)
-Gundam Seed Destiny ep.1-12 (Aug)

-Monster ep.1-12 (Sep)
-Tactics ep.1-12 (Sep)
-Samurai 7 ep.1-13 (Sep)
-Gundam Seed Destiny ep.13-24 (Sep)

Odex has not stated which DVDs will or will not include English subtitles. Should the above DVDs include English subtitles they will be the first legitimate English subtitled DVD releases of several of the titles (Monster and Tactics have not been announced as licensed in North America yet).

Odex had released anime DVDs in the past but cut back on their DVD releases to focus on VCDs.
