play set products designer Nakano works with Oishinbo director Takeuchi

The VAP production company has launched the official Japanese website for Scarecrowman, a 3D computer-graphics television series that Tokyo Movie is animating for a July premiere. The title character is a scarecrow who has stood watch in a field for twenty years, until he wakes up one morning after a lightning storm. He ends up helping the daughter of a scarecrow shop owner and becoming friends. Yoshio Takeuchi (Oishinbo, Beyblade, Jungle Emperor Leo: The Movie, Cat's Eye season 1) directs this project from the concepts created by play set products' Shirō Nakano (Modern Pets characters). Nakano chose veteran actor Hiroshi Kanbe (Always: Sunset on Third Street- films) to narrate the project.
