Haruhi Film, Moyashimon, Sarai-ya Goyou Promos Posted

Haruhi now playing in Japan; Moyashimon, House of 5 Leaves to debut in July, April

The Japanese "Fan Club" website for the Haruhi Suzumiya anime franchise began streaming a 15-second television commercial and a 30-second television commercial for The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya film on Monday. Since the commercials are airing after the film had already opened on February 6, they do contain plot spoilers. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is the title of the fourth volume in Nagaru Tanigawa and Noizi Ito's original Haruhi Suzumiya light novel series about an eccentric, assertive girl who creates her own school club for her strange antics. The film is the first anime adaptation of this novel volume's main story and the franchise's first film.

The official website for the live-action drama adaptation of Masayuki Ishikawa's Moyashimon manga has launched with a one-minute promotional video on Sunday. (In the linked page, select the pink "スペシャル" germ in the menu at the bottom.) The July television series will be the first live-action work on the Fuji TV's popular late-night Noitamina timeslot. The story follows a college student who discovers that he can see and communicate with the germs all around him — germs that appear as super-deformed characters. Yūichi Nakamura and the other stars of the drama presented the video during Sunday's press conference for Noitamina's 2010 lineup.

The official website for the Noitamina television anime adaptation of Natsume Ono's House of Five Leaves (Sarai-ya Goyou) manga also began streaming a promotional video on Monday. As was the case for Moyashimon's video, the cast members Daisuke Namikawa and Takahiro Sakurai made personal appearances at Noitamina's Sunday press conference to introduce the House of Five Leaves anime and present this promotional video. The manga follows the lives of the House of Five Leaves gang members in Edo-era Japan during the height of the shōgun's rule. In particular, the masterless samurai (rōnin) Akitsu Masanosuke becomes the bodyguard of the gang's charismatic leader Yaichi. The anime premieres in Japan on April 15.
