Japan's Animation DVD Ranking, May 24-30

The Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Ha) film sold 283,029 DVDs to top Ponyo's 200,000-copy record for first-week sales for an anime DVD release. All told, Evangelion: 2.22 earned 1.72 billion yen (about US$19 million) on DVD and 2.21 billion yen (about US$24 million) on Blu-ray Disc for a grand total of 3.93 billion yen (US$43 million) in its first week of sales.
The regular edition DVD for the live-action special-effects film Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider W & Decade Movie Taisen 2010 dropped from #3 to #29. In its second week, it sold 3,992 more copies for a total of 14,535. The collector's pack of the film also dropped from #2 to #30 in its second week. It added 3,892 more copies to its total of 17,897.
