Anime Announcements at London MCM Expo

New confirmations include K from Kaze, Needless and CANAAN from MVM.

The following upcoming releases were announced at the London MCM Expo:

Kazé UK (to be released by Manga Entertainment)

The new TV series K has been licensed.

The first volume of Tiger & Bunny is due on January 14, carrying the first seven episodes. It will come in a special box including "hero" cards and mini-magazine.

Makoto Shinkai's Journey to Agartha (aka Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below) will appear on January 28 on DVD and Blu-ray. There will be a collector's edition, including an artbook.

Mirai Nikki, Un-Go and Mawaru Penguindrum will appear next year, as will Bakuman. A Blu-ray of Bakuman. is still possible.

Both seasons of Code Geass will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the first quarter, about five weeks apart.

Bleach Season 10 part 1 is due in February or March, followed by part 2 in spring and a complete box-set in Summer. Seasons 11 and 12 should also follow next year.

MVM Entertainment

Needless has been licensed: part 1 in January, part 2 in February

Shana Season 2 part 1 will be released in March. Tony Allan of MVM Entertainment commented that pre-orders of the title would encourage him to release Series 3.

CANAAN will be released in March as a complete box-set.

Dream Eater Merry is also due in March.

Ga-Rei: Zero will be released in April.

Titles without a release date confirmed yet include Bodacious Space Pirates, Majikoi: Samurai Girls, Mayo Chiki! and Kids on the Slope.

Allan commented that the Blu-ray edition of Broken Blade this year 'had performed better than expected' but not well enough to persuade him to release many more Blu-rays. However, he would still consider further Blu-ray releases.

Manga Entertainment

Aria the Scarlet Ammo will probably be released in a complete series box-set.

Jormungand will be released in two half-series sets.

Fractale will be released in February or March.

The Blu-ray edition of Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie - Conqueror of Shamballa has been moved back to next year.

Re the film King of Thorn, Manga is still waiting to sign the contract with Sunrise.

Manga is also confident that it wll release the second season of Fairy Tail, plus the film version, next year.

Manga is planning a "trilogy" box-set of the three stand-alone films by Mamoru Hosoda; his new film The Wolf Children and its predecessors Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.
