Japan's Animation DVD Ranking, May 20-26

The deluxe edition of the live-action film based on Kanan Minami's Kyō, Koi o Hajimemasu shōjo manga landed at #5 on the overall DVD chart with 5,227 copies. The regular edition was #13 with 3,044 copies.
The Theatrical Opening Edition of the live-action Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Wizard & Fourze: Movie Taisen Ultimatum film sold 3,527 copies in its second week to rank #11. It now has a sales total of 4,289 copies. The Director's Cut of the film sold 1,923 more copies in its second week for a new total of 2,198. It ranked #25. The Perfect Pack also sold 1,731 more copies in its second week for a new total of 2,097. It rose to #30. Finally, the Collector's Pack added 1,111 copies to its total of 1,440 to rank #47 in its second week. Kamen Rider Wizard Vol. 4 was right above it at #46 in its second week. It added 1,121 copies to its total of 1,308.
Yoku Wakaru! Rikujō Jieitai ~Riku no Ōja! Nihon o Mamoru Sensha no Rikishi, NHK's historical documentary on Japan's Ground Self-Defense Force tanks, dropped from #1 to #14 in its third week. It sold 3,024 more copies to add to its total of 19,307. An audio commentary by Girls und Panzer character Yukari Akiyama helped put it at #1 last week, despite being sold only in convenience stores.
Since people who bought all three of the Yoku Wakaru! Jieitai DVDs (for Ground, Air, and Maritime Self-Defense Forces) received a free Kizuna ~Kizuna no Kioku documentary about the Self-Defense Forces' response to the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster, the other two DVDs ranked in the weekly top 25 also (#19 and #24). 10 photograph panels of the Type-10 tank, autographed by Yukari's voice actress Ikumi Nakagami, are being given away by random drawing to buyers of all three DVDs.
