A Certain Magical Index Film's Comiket Promo Posted

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

The official website for the A Certain Magical Index franchise began streaming a promotional video on Monday for the Toaru Majutsu no Index: Endymion no Kiseki (A Certain Magical Index: The Miracle of Endymion) anime film. The preview previously screened at Comiket last weekend.

The Blu-ray and DVD releases will both ship on August 28, and the special editions will have a bonus disc with a making-of video and bonus anime, A Certain Magical Index-tan: The Miracle of Endymion Movie Edition. The bonus disc will also have footage from the auditions and a roundtable discussion with the cast.

Original novel illustrator Kiyotaka Haimura is drawing the art for the special editions' boxes, which will include a soundtrack CD, a 64-page booklet, a miniature replica of the dialogue recording script, and a film print of footage from the movie. Both the regular and special editions will have audio commentaries.

In the movie's all-new story, the main characters Touma Kamijo and Index encounter a LEVEL 0 girl named Arisa just before the completion of the Academy City space elevator "Endymion." Hiroshi Nishikiori (Magic Tree House, Azumanga Daioh, Angelic Layer) returned to direct the film at the studio J.C. Staff (with CG produced by SANZIGEN). Hiroyuki Yoshino (Macross Frontier, Accel World, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) scripted the film based on the original novels' author Kazuma Kamachi's new story.

The website is also streaming a video for A Certain Scientific Railgun S that was also previously streamed at Comiket last weekend.

The show's second Blu-ray Disc and DVD will ship in Japan on August 28. fripSide's single with the song "eternal reality" will ship in a first pressing anime version and a first printing limited edition on August 21. Sachika Misawa's single "Links" will also ship in a first pressing anime edition, a first pressing limited edition, and a regular edition on August 21. Funimation is streaming the series as it airs.
