Toonami Delays FLCL Progressive, FLCL Alternative Anime's English-subtitled Version to November

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
FLCL Progressive's English-dubbed version premieres tonight on TV

The official Facebook page for Adult Swim's Toonami block announced on Saturday that the planned English-subtitled streams of both FLCL Progressive and FLCL Alternative are delayed until November. The Facebook post stated the delay is "out of respect for our Japanese partners," and is in order "to align with the release of the Japanese language versions." All of the episodes of both series will be made available "on all Adult Swim platforms" online in November.

Adult Swim originally planned to stream the English-subtitled version of both shows online simultaneously with the English-dubbed version airing on Toonami.

FLCL Progressive's English-dubbed version premieres tonight at midnight (effectively June 3) on Adult Swim's Toonami block.

Adult Swim describes FLCL Progressive as follows:

FLCL Progressive tells the story of 14-year-old Hidomi, her classmate Ide, and two otherworldly beings, "Jinyu" and "Haruha Raharu," who are determined to unlock their hidden potential. Mixed up in this is an all-powerful force known as "ATOMSK," a gorgeous vintage car… and a certain Vespa Scooter.

FLCL Alternative, the second new series, is slated for September on Toonami. In Japan, the anime will debut in theatrical screenings, with FLCL Alternative opening first on September 7, and FLCL Progressive opening on September 29.
