Extra London IMAX Screening of Your Name This Sunday

Remaining screenings of London's BFI anime season also include IMAX screenings of Millennium Actress and Akira, plus BFI Southbank screenings of films by Mamoru Hosoda and Makoto Shinkai

There will be an extra screening of Makoto Shinkai's 2016 blockbuster your name. on Sunday May 22 at 12.30 p.m. with tickets available here. The announcement follows a technical problem with an earlier IMAX screening of your name. on May 1, where the film was screened in Japanese but without subtitles.

In an email sent to customers who had bought tickets to the previous screenings, BFI IMAX said, "The screening of your name. on 1st May at the BFI Imax was shown without subtitles. All bookers have been refunded, but we have received multiple requests for an additional screening. We are pleased to announce that an additional screening (with subtitles) will take place at the BFI Imax on Sun 22 May at 12:30. If you wish to book, you can do so online, in person at the BFI Southbank (or on the day at the BFI Imax) or over the phone (020 7928 3232, 11:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. daily).

On Monday May 23, there will also be BFI IMAX screenings of Katsuhiro Ōtomo's Akira (3 p.m. and 8.30 p.m.) and Satoshi Kon's 2001 film Millennium Actress (6.15 p.m.)

The other remaining screenings in the anime season at London's BFI Southbank (near Waterloo station) are as follows:

Monday May 16

8.30 p.m. Castle in the Sky, directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Repeated on Friday May 20 at 8.30 p.m.

Wednesday May 18

8.45 p.m. Paprika, directed by Satoshi Kon.

Thursday May 19

6 p.m. Grave of the Fireflies, directed by Isao Takahata, introduced by Alex Dudok de Wit. Repeated (without introduction) on Friday May 27 at 8.45 p.m.

Saturday May 21

5.50 p.m. Double Bill: 5 Centimeters Per Second and The Garden of Words, directed by Makoto Shinkai.

8.15 p.m. Perfect Blue, directed by Satoshi Kon.

Sunday May 22

3 p.m. The Place Promised in Our Early Days, directed by Makoto Shinkai.

Tuesday May 24

8.40 p.m. Memories, directed by Kōji Morimoto, Tensai Okamura and Katsuhiro Ōtomo.

Saturday May 28

12.30 p.m. Tokyo Godfathers, directed by Satoshi Kon.

2.50 p.m. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, directed by Mamoru Hosoda.

6 p.m. Summer Wars, directed by Mamoru Hosoda.

8.40 p.m. Wolf Children, directed by Mamoru Hosoda.

Sunday May 29

11.40 a.m. The Little Norse Prince, directed by Isao Takahata. A special screening of this 1968 film for younger viewers; it is subtitled, but a live actor will read out the subtitles through headphones.

Tuesday May 31

8.45 p.m. Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, directed by Hayao Miyazaki.
