Based on the Japanese novel of the same name by Yasutaka Tsutsui, PAPRIKA follows the story of what can happen when scientists build a machine to see into dreams. This animated film, directed by Satoshi Kon, with animation done by Madhouse Studios, follows the story of Dr. Atsuko Chiba, a psychotherapist. When a prototype machine for dream viewing goes missing and an assistant takes flight, she dons the alter-ego “Paprika”, and enters the dream world as a detective to discover who is behind the plot.
