Ah My Buddha (TV)GoodThis show...wow. I felt like I was watching the bastard child of a three-way between Eiken, DearS and Magikano. The main premise is one of the most stupidly contrived things I've ever seen, and then, humorously, they actually tried to legitimately build on it plotwise. The fanservice was obscenely over-the-top. Also, I've never been a fan of the whole "beat up the guy even though he didn't do anything or what happened wasn't his fault" premise, even though it's so prevalent in harem shows. This show took it far enough that if I didn't know better I'd say it was making a sexist statement.

However, despite all that, this show made me laugh a whole lot, and admittedly all the girls were attractive at the very least. Episode 7 was also very nice, both from a storytelling standpoint and a making-fun-of-itself standpoint (when Hinata starts to strip in the river). I do have to give Amaenaideyo!! some credit for being funny, so it gets a Good.

Favorite character: Hinata Sugai/Yuuko Atoda
Amaenaide yo!! Katsu!! (TV)GoodBetter than the first installment, but not by too much. They cut down slightly on the oversaturation of fanservice while keeping the same amount of funny and actually introducing some semblance of plot (the Hinata mini-arc was nice). Kazuki was a good addition and I loved the homage to Dejiko. The DVD extra was also great. Regardless, if I had any doubts about the sexist message this franchise is trying to convey after the first series, this show erased all of them by being even more sexist. They want Ikkou to gain control of his power without using his only method of unleashing it, and then on multiple occasions they'll VOLUNTARILY subscribe to this perverted method to save their sorry asses from spirits they shouldn't be having a problem with before beating the shit out of him once he's done getting his mojo on. One of the plusses of the Hinata mini-arc was that it DIDN'T have any of this stupid sexist shit, further proving how awesome Hinata is. Also, Chitose became even more utterly frigid, and most of the time it was for either no reason or an ignorant/selfish reason. More positives combined with more negatives result in an equal rating. The door seems left open for a third season, which I wouldn't mind since I still hold out hope for this franchise.

Favorite character: Hinata Sugai
Azumanga Web Daioh (ONA)GoodIt was funny as a stand-alone but I have a feeling it'll be a lot better once I watch AzuDai itself and understand the characters better.

Favorite character: I forget, it was only 3 minutes long or so and it's been a while since I watched it.
Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan (TV)Bad Near pure garbage. In order for a one-gag show to succeed, the gag has to have longetivity. In BTDC's case, the gag was never even funny to begin with, and it only got worse from there. The important plot decisions made by the characters made absolutely no sense, and Dokuro is easily the worst female lead I've ever seen. The only funny parts of this show were the monkey fighting the dog, the Star-Spangled Banner MIDI coupled with Commodore Perry, and Zansu on the whole (and he didn't get enough screen time). None of these are enough to make up for a cast of bland, unrealistic and unlikable characters, the mindless plot and the other humorless attempts at comedy. Stay away.

Favorite character: Zansu
Bottle Fairy (TV)Very good (dub & sub)Favorite character: Sarara
D.C. ~Da Capo~ (TV)Very goodFavorite character: Yoriko Sagisawa/Suginami
Damekko Dōbutsu (TV)ExcellentThis reminded me in some ways of Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan, except it was actually good. The story was cute, the characters were endearing, the music was good and the slapstick was funny. What more could you ask for? Maybe more cameratime for the Female Feline Club, but that's about it. Definitely watch this, it's not even very time consuming at 5 minutes an episode.

Favorite character: Usahara
DearS (TV)GoodI'll be the first to admit that I'm all for fanservice, but this show was oversaturated to the point where even I was slightly put off. The plot was also kinda boring and mindless and the whole concept of self-imposed slavery was too unrealistic to allow for suspension of disbelief. Still, many of the characters were very likable (to the point where you find yourself rooting for the protagonists to come out on top even though the plot is rofl) and there's almost no end to the humor, be it intentional or unintentional. At only 13 episodes, if you have the time to spend, you might as well give it a try.

Favorite character: Natsuki Ikuhara/Mitsuki Yoshimine

Favorite character: Honestly, I couldn't even name one. The main girl, I guess, since she had the biggest tits other than the club host.

He Is My Master (TV)Very goodOne of the few harem shows to get its male protagonist right. Why has no other show ever followed his model? There isn't any metaphorical broken mold, it's just a fucking cartoon. If you're tired of garbage male harem leads like whatshisface from Love Hina, do yourself a favor and watch this show.

Favorite character: Yoshitaka Nakabayashi
Hime-sama Goyojin (TV)ExcellentFavorite character: I loved at least half the cast and couldn't possibly pick only one or two.

Magikano (TV)Masterpiece2006 Show of the Year finalist alongside Inukami. Admittedly terrible ending but you don't watch a show like this for plot unless your IQ is a single digit.

Favorite character: Hajime Hario (the guy in the conspiracy club that did all the talking and was often accompanied by rooster sound effects)
(The) Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (TV)GoodI would love to discuss how obscenely overrated this show is, but that would be unfair because it would cast a negative light on many non-negative aspects of the show. The plot ideas and character concepts are clever (Kyon is an excellent role) and I thoroughly enjoyed the murder mystery, but the order jumping takes away from the storytelling, Haruhi is very annoying, I never really got attached to Yuki or Koizumi and the Sleeping Beauty line gave the climax away. Worth watching (if only for the hype), but not fantastic by any stretch. I got more out of this franchise from the zillions of humorous 2chan/4chan image edits and 4komas than from the show itself.

Favorite character: Kyon/Mikuru Asahina
