It's not replacing Yu-Gi-Oh! It's replacing Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.
Right now the opinion is that this is CN's first move until they broadcast the new dub this fall, but I think if they were going to start Advance up, the should have started at the beginning instead of jumping over a second season. This makes 2 1/2 seasons that CN hasn't aired.

I know, that's weird. This is the first time Pokemon Advanced has aired on Cartoon Network, it would seem logical to start at the beginning of that series at least. Instead they're jumping into the second season; where they've already caught pokemon, new characters are in the group (because CN people wouldn't know about May & Max), and new concepts are present (May wants to be a Pokemon Coordinator(sp?)). Granted, Pokemon is not the hardest show to follow and fairly easy to just jump right into, but still... it's weird. CN is usually really good about showing their shows in correct episode order.
I wonder if this is because of 1) what episodes were involved in the deal... although to be missing the first season of Advanced just sounds crazy or 2) based on the running schedule they have set up, they want to be at a certain point in the show at a certain time to be able to start the 9th season on some set date.

If Pokemon is replacing Yugioh GX's timeslot, what's going to happen to Yugioh GX?
