As noted in the article, Super Mario Bros. entered the Hall of Fame in its first class last year.

How come they don't have Alex Kidd in Miracle World? It was one of the earliest side-scrollers and a big influence on the industry.

Sounds like a rerun of how the Sony Metreon in San Francisco used to have a "Walk Of Game" on a second-floor walkway, and each year they'd add another few titles and personalities and give them stars on the walkway, like Hollywood's "Walk Of Fame". Many of the nominees in this article were part of that installation. That said, the Metreon's entertainment concept pretty much failed outside of having a movie theater and food court, and the entire second floor is now a Target.

The games include: Elite (1984), Final Fantasy (1987), Grand Theft Auto III (2001), John Madden Football (1988), The Legend of Zelda (1986), Nürburgring (1975), The Oregon Trail (1971), Pokémon Red and Green (1996), Sid Meier's Civilization (1991), The Sims (2000), Sonic the Hedgehog (1991), Space Invaders (1978), Street Fighter II (1991), and Tomb Raider (1996).

All of the games they mentioned are in the picture, but they didn't include Minecraft which is also shown in the picture.

If I had to choose five from this list to win I would go with: Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, Pokemon Red and Green, Space Invaders, and Street Fighter 2

I think Pokémon, The Legend of Zelda, and Sonic the Hedgehog stand a good chance of getting into the Hall of Fame. Cool

Not sure of the other three, but I gotta think that Street Fighter II and Final Fantasy are definitely in.

Minecraft has had a significant cultural impact, which is what they're looking for.
