It is good he is making his third directed anime film and I hope GKIDS gets North American rights to this interesting and promising film in the near future.

Wow! Sounds awesome! We've been missing Otomo. Though Short Peace was a lovely project it'll be awesome to see him get back in the ring for a full length high budget feature!

Reminds me so much of Memories (1995)! So excited to see this new work, the teaser and grand view of Earth alone are getting me super hyped.

Well, this looks really promising. I hope it's not full CGI though (the teaser did look like it was CGI, but maybe it's just to early to tell). Really like the character design for the MC and the concept art though, so I'll be optimistic about this one.

The art work and poster look great, not impressed by the actual trailer, but it's only a short teaser so we shall see.

I wonder what the budget will be? Steamboy is still the best looking animated film of all time with the solely hand drawn Akira right behind it. I can´t see Otomo settling for less but Steamboy lost all the money back in the day. It and GitS Innocence fully killed big-budget international anime films outside of the now-defunct Ghibli. Hups. God speed Otomo, you crazy rat bastard. Bankrupt them all!
One of his early short manga kind of reminds me of what was shown so far. Hm. |

At first I thought that Otomo was going to direct a new Gundam project, with the mention of space colonies and Sunrise being the animation studio in charge.
