I remember those days so well because there was a lot debates about Marina vs LiSA - Iwasawa vs Yui for better vocalist lol

My friend was a Iwasawa fan boy and she was great so I didn't have anything against that but I always argued that at the least, on a technical level with things like having a wider vocal range and vibrato, Yui/LiSA definitely had more skill. I was hoping GlDemo would last forever but I knew LiSA would at least stick around due to her amazing talent/skill. Didn't expect her to end up being pretty much the top Anison artist of the decade, though. Maybe we'll get a GlDemo 10-year anniversary surprise lol...

I can dream, right? Crying or Very sad

Angel Beats! is a lovable anime and one of my favorites ever. It is one of the first animes I watched when I became a dedicated anime fan years ago. Thank you for the memories and emotions.

Way to early to say this. Sentai discs went out of print not too long age. Besides, Angel Beats! is a beloved anime, and (like FMA:B and Anohana) Aniplex USA is going to release it probably soon.

It's also available on Netflix.

I have the original DVD release and rated both the series as the #1 title of 2011 (back then I was ranking strictly on availability in the U.S.) and its opener as tops for that year. It's been too long since I went back and rewatched it, so I now know what title is on my agenda for the near future.

it's not as good as you remember if it's been that long.

I don't think it's more than okay nowadays.

TBH, with unopened copies of the Sentai release going for like $150 and used for $50, I sort of expected Aniplex would do a big re-release, perhaps including the two OVAs that weren’t in the Sentai set (“Another Epilogue” and “Hell’s Kitchen”). Then again, I haven’t been going to Aniplex panels or following them the last few years, as they’ve practically become the all-Fate, all-Monogatari all-the-time company.

monogatari is financially successful outside Japan? That'd be a surprise.

The franchise seems to be selling really well in the US, judging by the rate at which Vertical has been rushing the novels out.

I wish they make Angel Beats Heaven's Door into an anime. Heaven's door is the prequel story to angel beats. How the whole gang got together before Otonash arrives. Great back story.

I enjoyed Angel Beats back when I first saw it several years ago. I remember the ending making me cry so much. I need to rewatch it sometime.

They've reprinted Bake 3x alone and released a boxed set for the second season after many of the singles sold out, so I'd say the series has done pretty well for them.
