He had a really unique, low-key humorous vocal performance. It always made me smile. It was a whimsical kind of voice that cannot be replicated. I've missed him since he retired and will always miss him.

Sad news to hear, here in Latin America the actor who voiced Shenron in all his appearances, Abel Rocha, passed away on November. He was 96. I hope both of them rest in peace.

Rest in Peace. Difficult to find an anime from the 70s and 80s that he wasn't a part of.

Ever since Yanami-san's sudden retirement due to ill health back during the beginning of DB Super, I expected the end was near for him. It's still a painful bolt out of the blue to finally see it the news. He was the voice of Dragon Ball perhaps even more so than Masako Nozawa. His absence will be felt. RIP.

Yanami-san was fantastic in Dragon Ball as the Narrator, King Kai, and Dr. Briefs among others. My personal favorite role of his was as Boyakki in Yatterman and all the related versions of that character in the Time Boken franchise. Check it out if you get the chance, he was hilarious and displayed a ton of personality.

RIP
