Holy hell they got Oshi no ko!? I really was not expecting that but I seriously think at this point Hidives days are numbered.

Wow, that is a massive blow to Hi-Dive. Not a great sign for competition in the anime streaming industry.

Did not see this coming. Wonder if they will get the other two seasons in the near future. Haven't watched it at all outside of Youtube stuff since I wasn't going to go that far for it.

Guessing Sony/Aniplex handed them a blank cheque?

Hidive's lost a huge number of subscribers over this, unless it's a deal which spreads across multiple platforms.

Thinking it might have to do with Sony investment in kadokawa shares, sentai completely stopped getting new kadokawa shows since.

Expecting CR to get the eminence in shadow movie now, for the same reason.

I hope Hidive can stick around. Smaller anime companies must be struggling with Amazon and Disney in the mix. I know it has its flaws but I hope they continue with the current dub cast since I’ve grown fond of it.

I have HiDive and CR, so I'm not personally effected, but man, you hate it when shows are split between services.

Really hate this situation. I just watched an interview with Shannon Reed yesterday where he mentioned being excited to work on future seasons. Just... man... Sad

By the way, if any of you guys are curious about Sentai's response, they immediately posted this for pre-order.

Now I wonder if Crunchyroll will get future seasons of Call of the Night considering that's a show produced by Aniplex.

Not connected whatsoever.

OnK is kadokawa.

And call of the night isn’t even aniplex, sure they might be in the production committee, but it’s a fuji tv show.

Been over a decade since Sentai got anything aniplex.

It really looks like Hidive is circling the drain, and that is very bad news for American anime fans. Because you know Hidive isn't really competition for CR in the sense that they're threatening to take the throne as America's top anime site, but they're at least enough of a factor to where they force Crunchyroll to keep their prices competitive. As soon as Hidive dies, Crunchyroll's prices are going to skyrocket.

Oh, you have GOT to be kidding me.

(Just so you know, I know what I’m about to say is going to sound weird. It is how I feel, though.)

Since HIDIVE hasn’t been picking up a lot of seasonal anime over the past few seasons - much less anime that I’m already interested in - I’ve been having to pick up shows that I’ve been less interested in that will give me a consistent excuse to keep my HIDIVE subscription. For that reason, I’d been looking forward to having such a consistent excuse in Oshi no Ko season 3….only for Crunchyroll to swoop in and ruin that for me. Thanks a lot, Crunchyroll.

Honestly, the only thing Hidive has going for it, is being the home of Lupin. In general, their catalogue only has a small amount of titles worth having an active subscription for. It makes more sense just to buy those titles on disc. I'm actually surprised that they haven't picked up the few Amazon titles they missed, like re;Creators and Banana Fish

That said, CR acquire this right after ruining their subtitles is bad timing.
