The cast looks pretty solid and I wasn't expecting Yuki Kajiura to compose the music. The animation I would have to see more of to form a proper judgement of it but so far I'm excited and I'm glad this is finally happening.

I hope when the new Rayearth remake gets an English dub, most of the tv series dub cast would make a return!

Color me impressed with the effort in animation for this. Tempted to look into it for the fall.

I wonder how the English dub will be handled?

Wendee Lee (the original English voice of Umi) is still around in the anime scene, but I think Fuu's voice may have retired from voice acting (nothing in her filmography is fresher than a decade old) and Hikaru's voice has only done ADR directing in recent years. A few others in major roles have either moved on or (in the case of Lafarga) died. Thus, the eventual English dub cast will almost certainly be an entirely new one, with a couple of the originals who are still around maybe popping up in minor roles.

Will be interesting to see how a new generation of fans react to this one, as it's a distinct deviation when cast against the current isekai boom. (It features only female characters being isekaied and heavily involves mecha, which was common for isekai prior to the mid-2010s but has rarely been seen since.) Not sure how much I like the styling of the updated character designs, but I do own all of the original, so I'll at least give it a try.

I thought I heard Yuki Kajiura’s conlang when I watched that trailer! I’m even more excited for this; I will definitely be watching.

BARELY TWO SECONDS IN AND I... JUST...
*internal squealing*

IS THAT... FREAKING KAJIURA-SAN???
IN A NEW CLAMP WORK???

YES. YES IT IS.

And she's BACK with her Tsubasa-style FictionJunction-sung music!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

O-okay, Juno, calm down... breathe... breathe...

Breeeeaaaaathe...

(Forgive me for my freak out and cringy caps lock. Childhood Juno is having a bit of a moment. She will be back to normal shortly... maybe.)

A-anyway, the fantastical lyrics in the song are not only reminiscent of Tsubasa. I swear they're actual lyrics in one of her other works as wellーmaybe even Tsubasa. That'd be a neat callback, but I can't remember which track...

Also, I'm noticing the style is far more reminiscent of the manga's look, and the transformation snippets shown here (and possibly some other shots, like the first few seconds) reflect actual panels from the manga. I suspect the show will follow the manga more closely. That strategy would be a bit of a mixed bag, since the first anime expanded on the manga brilliantly to the point where it felt more alive than the manga, but the sequel ended up doing an entirely different story than the manga's sequel (under Ohkawa-sensei's direction, thus still "canon" in a sense), so this would also be an opportunity to finally adapt the manga's sequel story into anime and reveal to anime-only fans spoiler[one of the "gods", or creators, of the CLAMP universe!]

So so so so EXCITED...!!!

Bridget Hoffman still does some voice acting, just not as often. she's in Demon Slayer as Kanae Kocho. Julie Maddalena directed & voiced a role in Kimi ni Todoke from a few years ago. They might not be as active but them returning is technically possible. However I really don't expect it, especially when the Japanese is a new cast which often the dub does the same.

I am perfectly fine with the old show, but this remake is looking solid so far.

Do we have some information if this new series is going to be dubbed into multiple languages? I mean, maybe some news regarding its international distribution will be revealed close to its October premier, I'm betting on Netflix acquiring it, due to the original series having been uploaded to the service a couple of months ago, though it might end up on Crunchyroll or even Prime Video, I don't know,
I don't the status of Rayearth's international dub VAs, but here in Spanish-speaking Latin America the original series was dubbed in Los Ángeles, and it's been more than 20 years than an anime has been dubbed there, though the original dub cast is aware of this remake and many of them would like to reprise their roles, but it might be difficult.
As for the original Japanese cast, I hope that Hikaru, Umi and Fuu's original seiyuu could at least have a role in this new version.

Yuki Kajiura music on Rayearth is wild, lol. But it'll give the series a unique vibe compared to them 90s anime's synthy video game-esque soundtrack, that's for sure.

Bridget Hoffman still does some voice acting, just not as often. she's in Demon Slayer as Kanae Kocho.

Bridget Hoffman just recently reprised her role as Jeri for Discotek's remastered release of the second Digimon Tamers movie. (The original version of the film's dub had Jeri voice-matched by a different VA, so her recordings were new.) And she also reprised Nia in the Gurren Lagann movie dubs from a couple of years ago.

Yuki Kajiura was the saving grace of the Tsubasa anime, it's great to have her composing for a (presumably) good CLAMP adaptation for once

It'll be crazy to see the manga's ending finally animated
