Not dubbing the songs isn't so much curious as it is frustrating. Funimation would routinely dub songs with the exceptions being where they weren't permitted, like Love Live Sunshine. Sony/Crunchyroll hasn't allowed that. The music was dubbed for the first season of this series under Funimation, but not the second, under Crunchyroll. It's especially annoying when the casting was done with singing as a primary consideration.
Even when it isn't a full-blown song, and just a little tune a character sings to themselves, Crunchyroll will leave it in Japanese these days.

The movie was a lot of fun. I’d say the review is a reasonable assessment, though I think some of the retrospective scenes and images may have been there partly to refresh memories of people who haven’t seen the series in a few years.

There were some interesting hints about relationships in the film: just what is Sakura doing among these past idols? for example.

I thought the music was okay, but nothing to compare with Yugiri’s song from the series:

So question to those who have seen the movie from someone who probably won't see it until later.

But the alien invasion, is it limited to Saga, or is it a full-on invasion on Earth, or at least Japan? Because the trailers make it seem like it's either a full-on invasion on the planet or starts at Saga, with Earth being further under threat given how the rest of Japan and America came to help rebuild Saga in the finale of Revenge. And it's up to Sakura and crew to stop the aliens before the planet is reduced to a wasteland.

Saga is the first place the aliens attack and where their mothership is hovering over but the entire Earth was always their target. Without getting into spoilers, something happens early on that essentially stops the aliens from attacking the rest of the planet so all the action stays within Saga.

Had a feeling going in that was the case. That ending to Revenge felt like it was going to be a world-threatening event.

I deliberately chose an Alamo Drafthouse location in Manhattan because it wasn’t listed as dub, and there was an audible sigh of disappointment in the theater when the move started and we heard English.

Still, it was a good movie and the fact that the music was still in Japanese was a plus in my eyes. Broke out some penlights I bought for the finale.

Also lmao at Cygames destroying their own Saga office when the aliens first showed up.

The Zombie Land Saga movie has been added to Crunchyroll (in the US at least).

Ditto in Spain since today, so I am guessing in the rest of Europe/EU, too.
