Because unfortunately, sports manga/anime do horribly bad in the USA, and the anime wasn't that well-received in Japan either. Darn shame, though. It's a gem of a series (it beat Moyashimon in my faves!)
Also, it's kinda sad that it'll be only on Jump+, since that means that the chances of it being translated into English are very low, if not nil. Let's hope (oh, do we hope!) that it's on MangaPlus as well!
