Looking forward to checking this out!
A bit surprised to see Tatsuyuki Nagai is handling this series as well, on top of Railgun 4. They're really leaning on the guy, huh? Anime smile + sweatdrop
Unlike Railgun, this is based on a light novel, so I'm curious to see how the adaptation will come across. I wonder who'll end up on series composition.

Anyway, I'm glad that A Certain series is finally back with more anime. I just hope they finally get around to announcing Index NT someday...

The announcement was made to coincide with the concerts:

Isn't the title "とある暗部の少女共棲" and thus "Toaru anbu no shoujo kyousei" rather than "toaru anbu no item"

The furigana indicate that “少女共棲” is read as “item”.

Nagai directing it is practically a guarantee of quality, and I imagine having introduced ITEM via Railgun is part of why he's headlining this.

Although the girls look kind of different here.

I was thinking this, too. They each look a little older, maybe?

Wasn't that big a fan of ITEM in their earlier Railgun appearances, but I'll still probably give this a try. Definitely more looking forward to Railgun 4.

Well, the technical answer is that the character designer this time is Shigeki Kimoto, who's basing his designs on Nilitsu's illustrations from the novels. So considering both the anime and original work designers are different, it's natural they'd look a bit different, lol.

Just to add, that is pretty much how most titles in the franchise are structured. It's read "Toaru Majutsu no Index" not "Toaru Majutsu no Kinsho Mokuroku", and "Toaru Kagaku no Railgun" not "Toaru Kagaku no Choudenjihou".

Yah im really hoping we get a 4th season for Index too.

and while im happy to see more series, it's sad to see this ITEM anime knowing what happens to Frenda in the 3rd season of Index.
