Two new anime movies were solicited by Shochiku at the European Film Market

At the European Film Market (which takes place at the Berlin Film Festival), Shochiku solicited two new anime: "Summer Days with Koo" by Crayon Shin-Chan director Keiichi Hara, about a fourth grader who adopts what turns out to be a kappa (Japanese water spirit) and "Vexille", a 3D CG action feature by Fumihiko Sori, producer of Appleseed and director of Ping Pong, a live-action feature slated to be released by Viz Pictures.

The two films were advertised in Shochiku's festival circular to potential buyers, which included artwork and information on the films. Summer Days with Koo (Kappa no Coo to Natsuyasumi) is scheduled for completion in the summer, while Vexille is expected to be finished in the fall. No Japanese release dates have been announced yet.
