Nodame leads, but Laputa, Totoro, Dragon Ball return to spotlight
The latest Nodame Cantabile DVD tops the animation chart in this quiet week, with a batch of old family classics filling the next six spots. Nostalgia brings back the Dragon Ball series and two Ghibli films, including the perennial comeback king Totoro six years after its release. The awkwardly titled Shrek two-movie pack sold mostly on the third movie's hype and its sale price, which is less than the first movie's original price by itself.
Although not yet a classic and definitely not a family one, MTV Japan's quirky computer-animated The World of GOLDEN EGGS is also back on the charts. A special Golden Eggs episode that features singer Namie Amuro as a guest voice will come as a bonus on Amuro's new CD.
