Japan's Animation TV Ranking, November 9-15

The newest live-action adaptation of Machiko Hasegawa's Sazae-san family manga premiered in a 144-minute drama special on November 15 at 6:30 p.m. It earned an unusually high 20.9% ranking as the #2 top-rated drama of the week. 32-year-old actress Alisa Mizuki starred as the title housewife. The special marked the 50th anniversary of Fuji TV and the 40th anniversary of Sazae-san's anime adaptation.
The television drama adaptation of Motoka Murakami's Jin manga also aired on November 15 at 9:00 p.m. as the #3 drama. It earned a 20.2 rating; it was the second straight week that its rating was above 20%.
Shin Oishinbo, the latest live-action adaptation based on Tetsu Kariya and Akira Hanasaki's culinary manga, spawned a Shin Oishinbo 3 -Yuzan Kaibara vs. Kyukyoku Shichinin no Samurai! drama special on November 14. The special garnered a 11.7% rating. TOKIO band member Masahiro Matsuoka starred as the food critic Shirō Yamaoka.
Screenwriter Kankurō Kudō's Maiko Haaaan!!! live-action comedy film aired on November 13 at 9:00 p.m. with a 12.2 rating.
