Japan's Animation Blu-ray Disc Ranking, March 1-7

Mamoru Hosoda and MADHOUSE's Summer Wars film has sold 54,000 Blu-ray Discs since March 3 to top Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Jo) as the #1 anime Blu-ray in first-week sales. Evangelion: 1.11 sold 49,000 copies in its first week of sales last year. Summer Wars is now the #2 Blu-ray overall in first-week sales; Michael Jackson's This Is It music documentary film is the only Blu-ray Disc to sell more copies than Summer Wars.
The standard edition of Yukihiko Tsutsumi's third live-action film based on Naoki Urasawa's 20th Century Boys suspense manga dropped from #5 to #9, and the 20th Century Boys BD Set also fell from #11 to #19. The Animelo Summer Live 2009 RE:BRIDGE 8.23 concert DVD also dropped from #8 to #14 in its second week, and the 8.22 counterpart dropped from #12 to #18.
