posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Monday that it will stream the Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals (Naruto SD: Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden) spinoff television anime series as it airs in Japan. The website will stream the series worldwide outside of Japan for premium members starting on April 3 at 5:30 a.m. EDT. It will stream the episodes one week later for free members in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.
The television series adapts Kenji Taira's Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden gag comedy manga that centers on the secondary Naruto character Rock Lee.
Studio Pierrot, which also produces the main Naruto anime, will animate the new television series. The "SD" in the title stands for "Sugoi Doryoku," or "Super Determined." ("SD" traditionally means "super-deformed.") The anime will premiere in Japan on April 3.
