'Survival action' TV anime premieres October 2

The official website for the television anime of Asari Endō's Mahō Shōjo Ikusei Keikaku (Magical Girl Raising Project) "survival action" light novel series began streaming the anime's third promotional video on Thursday. The video reveals three new cast members for the anime.

[Note: The YouTube video below cannot be viewed in the United States, Germany, Mexico, New Zealand, and Australia.]

The new cast members are:

Saori Hayami as Sister Nana, a magical holy woman seeking perfection. Her magical power is bringing out the best in her favorite person's abilities.

Yū Kobayashi as Weiss Winterprison, a ikemen (handsome) magical girl who protects love. Her magical power is building a wall where nothing existed.

Yumiri Hanamori as Nemurin, a lazy NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) girl. Her magical power is being able to enter other people's dreams.

The cast joins previously revealed cast members:

Nao Tōyama as the protagonist Snow White

Manami Numakura as Ripple

Ayane Sakura as La Pucell

Yumi Uchiyama as Top Speed

Kurumi Mamiya as Fav (the show's mascot character)

Yōko Hikasa as Ruler

Inori Minase as Swim Swim

Risae Matsuda as Minael, Yunael's twin sister (Minael and Yunael's voice actresses are twins in real life.)

Satsumi Matsuda as Yunael, Minael's twin sister

Asuka Nishi as Tama

The anime will premiere on the AT-X channel on October 1 at 24:00 (effectively, October 2 at midnight), before also running on Tokyo MX, BS11, and the GyaO! streaming service in Japan.

Hiroyuki Hashimoto (Is the order a rabbit?) is directing the anime at Lerche, with Takao Yoshioka (Elfen Lied, High School DxD, Your Lie in April) supervising and writing the scripts. Yukiko Aikei (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, Accel World, Your Lie in April) is designing the characters for animation.

Manami Numakura (the voice of Ripple in the anime) is performing the opening theme song "Sakebe" (Shout). Nano is performing the ending theme song "Dreamcatcher."

Endō's novels are set in a world where a social game called The Magical Girl Raising Project allows one in tens of thousands of people to be a "magical girl" — possessing extraordinary physical capabilities and looks, as well as special magical powers that set them apart from the rest of the human race. But one day, in a district containing 16 magical girls, the administration announces that it must halve the number of magical girls to solve the problem of magical energy. At first, the 16 magical girls race to collect more "magical candy" than their competitors, but the rules quickly become twisted, and it quickly becomes a murderous battle for survival among them.
