posted on by Andrew Osmond
On Monday June 10, Crunchyroll will release the KONOSUBA prequel series, Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!. The series focuses on the early life of the exposion-obsessed wizard Megumin. Previous anime director Takaomi Kanasaki served as the chief director of the anime at Drive (Studio DEEN animated the previous two seasons and J.C. Staff animated the film). Yujiro Abe (episode director for Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Great Pretender) directed the series. Makoto Uezu was again in charge of the series scripts, and Koichi Kikuta returned as character designer. Masato Kōda returned as the music composer.
Crunchyroll will also release the first season of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! on Blu-ray. Seven Seas is releasing the manga in English, and it describes the story:
"Sakurai Shinichi's one wish is for a little peace and quiet. But Uzaki Hana–his boisterous, well-endowed underclassman–has other plans. All she wants is to hang out and poke fun at him. With the help of her chipper charm and peppy persistence, this might just be the start of a beautiful relationship."
Kazuya Miura (Kemono Michi: Rise Up, DRAMAtical Murder) directed the anime at ENGI (Kemono Michi: Rise Up). Takashi Aoshima (Yuruyuri - Happy Go Lily both seasons, Himouto! Umaruchan, Survival Game Club!) oversaw the series scripts, and Manabu Kurihara (Kemono Michi: Rise Up sub-character design) designed the characters.
Crunchyroll will also release the second season of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! as both a Blu-ray and a Limited Blu-ray/DVD (pictured). The Limited Edition will include a 90-page art book and six art cards.
Crunchyroll will also release the series The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague on Blu-ray. The "workplace fantasy romantic comedy" revolves around Himuro-kun, a modern-day descendant of the Snow Woman from Japanese folklore, and his seemingly aloof, eccentric yet kind colleague Fuyutsuki. Himuro-kun tends to freeze nearby objects or summon a snowstorm when he is agitated, and he also happens to have a secret crush on Fuyutsuki. However, Fuyutsuki is nearly completely oblivious to anything around her.
Mankyū (Sumikkogurashi – Good to be in the corner) directed the anime at Zero-G and the new studio Liber (established in 2021). Tomoko Konparu (Blue Spring Ride, Love All Play) oversaw the series scripts. Miyako Kanō designed the characters. Ruka Kawada (Isekai Quartet, Is the order a rabbit?) composed the music.
MVM will release a standard Blu-ray edition of Assassins Pride.
