Crunchyroll Launches Anime Simulcast Service in Latin America

The leader in streaming Anime and Asian content launches Spanish localized site for Latin American audience

San Francisco, Calif. (April 16, 2012) – Crunchyroll, Inc., the leading Anime streaming service, launches today in Latin America, offering a Spanish localized site, Spanish subtitles and instant and unlimited access to the latest Anime titles immediately following Japan TV broadcast. Starting today, anime fans throughout Latin America (including Mexico and all Spanish speaking countries in Central America and South America), will have access to the latest Anime titles with Spanish subtitles and original Japanese audio. The current season's episodes will be available for free with ad-supported streaming one week after Japan TV broadcast, with Crunchyroll premium members enjoying immediate access to simulcast episodes, all catalog episodes before the current season, and additional access privileges such as 1080p HD video and no ads.

For initial launch, the following simulcast titles from Crunchyroll's Spring 2012 lineup will be made available with Spanish subtitles in Latin America: NARUTO SHIPPUDEN, SKET DANCE, , Bodacious Space Pirates, Recorder and Randsell, The Knight in the Area, Fate/Zero Remix II, Sengoku Collection, Saki: Episode of Side A, Shirokuma Café, Naruto Spin-off: Rock Lee and his Ninja Friends, Nyarko-san: Another Crawling Chaos, Folktales from Japan, Hiiro no Kakera, Space Brothers, Upotte!!, Yurumei 3d, OZMA, you and me, Mysterious Girlfriend X, Kuroko's Basketball, and tsuritama. Select catalog titles such as BLEACH and GINTAMA will also be available with Spanish subtitles, with additional simulcast and catalog titles to be added following launch.

All Latin American viewers can enjoy the current season's episodes for free with ads, with premium members enjoying even more access privileges. Viewers can sign up for a 14-day free trial of the premium service, and have the ability to pay with local currency as well as PayPal in supported countries. The Anime Premium Membership's monthly price in each country in Latin America is as follows; Argentina: 20 ARS, Bolivia: 35 BOB, Chile: 2490 CLP, Colombia: 9900 COP, Costa Rica: 2490 CRC, Dominican Republic: 189 DOP, Guatemala: 39 GTQ, Honduras: 89 HNL, Mexico: 69 MXN, Nicaragua: 109 NIO, Panama: 5 PAB, Paraguay: 22000, PYG, Peru: 13 PEN, Uruguay: 99 UYU, and Venezuela 20 VEF.

Episodes can be accessed from Crunchyroll.com, the free iPad and iPhone application, the Android application, Google TV, Roku, Boxee, Vizio VIA, WD TV Live and additional set-top channels, and affiliate partners.

Crunchyroll premium members will have access to the largest anime selection, same-day access for simulcasted titles, no advertisements and can be viewed in 480p-to-1080p quality on selected titles.
