Legendary Monsters are Back Like Never Before in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game

Hawthorne, Calif. (May 28, 2021) – Get ready to celebrate Summer with a season of signature Summons! This June, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) invites you to revisit your roots in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG), revamping some of the greatest monsters of all time.

The first booster set of the month unleashes stunning new versions of Yuma's Number 39: Utopia from Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, and Akiza's Black Rose Dragon from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's! Then, the Egyptian God Cards are back in two ready-to-play Decks that harness the power of Slifer the Sky Dragon and Obelisk the Tormentor. Even the Summer's tournament prizes are reinventing the classics: compete in Remote Duels for a chance to win exclusive Ultimate Rares, like the variant art "dark" version of Zane's Cyber Dragon.

Get ready to kick your Decks into Top Gear with the Lightning Overdrive booster set! Tournament Duelists will find powerful cards like Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir and Diviner of the Herald, two massive additions to the tournament-winning Drytron Deck that debuted in December's Genesis Impact. Dogmatika fans can collect a new Ritual Monster and Ritual Spell Card, and seek support from a partnered theme that expands the Dogmatika story. Competitive Duelists will want to watch out for picks like Dark Honest, as well as new support for popular themes like Springans and War Rock from Blazing Vortex, plus the Sunavalon and Sunvine monsters in Ghosts From the Past.

From there, get ready for a new spin on some of Dueling history's best! Ruddy Rose Dragon is a new Level 10 form of Akiza's Black Rose Dragon from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. This new version doesn't just destroy everything else on the field: it also lets you banish every card from both Duelists' Graveyards. Tribute it to negate a destruction effect, and you'll call forth the original Black Rose Dragon! Fans of Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal will want the new version of Yuma's Number 39: Utopia too, the Lightning Overdrive cover card Ultimate Dragonic Utopia Ray. This new Xyz powerhouse equips "ZW" monsters straight from your Deck to use their abilities, then detaches Xyz Materials to negate the effects of your opponent's cards, forever! The Magistus theme gets a boost with another version of Rilliona, the Magistus of Verre; Spirit Charmer fans find a new Link Monster version of Lyna the Light Charmer; and a new snowman of Live☆Twin Ki-sikil brings a touch of Winter to the Summer celebration!

Lightning Overdrive is available everywhere on June 4, with 100 new cards: 50 Commons, 26 Super Rares, 14 Ultra Rares, and 10 Secret Rares. MSRP: $3.99 per 9-card pack. However, on Saturday, May 29th and Sunday, May 30th, you can be one of the first to open packs of Lightning Overdrive, and earn some cool, exclusive prizes too, in the Lightning Overdrive Premiere! Pre-release Event! Purchase a minimum of 5 packs at a participating Official Tournament Store and while supplies last, you'll receive a Field Center Card featuring Ultimate Dragonic Utopia Ray. You'll also be entered for a chance to win exclusive prizes, like an Ultra Rare promo card and a Lightning Overdrive Game Mat.

Then, prepare to witness the power of a God! The Egyptian God Decks arrive ready-to-play, enhancing the sheer power of Slifer the Sky Dragon and Obelisk the Tormentor to unthinkable new levels. Both Decks come with a copy of Soul Crossing, a brand-new Quick-Play Spell Card that lets you Tribute your opponent's monsters for the Tribute Summon of your Egyptian God. Wipe the field of your opponent's pathetic cards, then show them what real power looks like!

Egyptian God Deck: Slifer the Sky Dragon includes the iconic God Card, plus a wealth of never-before-seen support to boost its Attack Points. Thunderforce Attack showcases Slifer's signature maneuver as a Quick-Play Spell Card, destroying all of your opponent's face-up monsters when you control Slifer the Sky Dragon. You can set Thunderforce Attack and activate it any time, but if you play it in your Main Phase you'll draw cards equal to the number of monsters destroyed. And remember, Slifer the Sky Dragon gains 1000 ATK/DEF for every card in your hand! Egyptian God Deck: Obelisk the Tormentor plays to Obelisk's strengths, giving you command over Obelisk's deadly Fist of Fate! Another Quick-Play Spell, it negates the abilities of an opposing Effect Monster, destroys it, and keeps it from activating any further effects. It even negates the abilities of any other monsters with the same name, and if you play Fist of Fate on your Main Phase, you'll demolish your opponent's Spell and Trap Cards!

Which Egyptian God Card reigns supreme? Find out on June 18 when Egyptian God Deck: Slifer the Sky Dragon and Egyptian God Deck: Obelisk the Tormentor roar into stores. Each Egyptian God Deck comes with a Deluxe Game Mat/Dueling Guide and 40 cards: 32 Commons, 4 Super Rares, and 4 Ultra Rares. MSRP: $9.99 per box.
