Nan Desu Kan 28, Event and Updated Information
Dust off your controllers and grab a game cartridge, this Labor Day Weekend Nan Desu Kan (NDK) is going retro! From August 29th thru 31st, 2025 this 3-Day Japanese Culture Convention will once again bring a community of thousands together. Our 28th anniversary Nan Desu Kan, Colorado's Largest Anime and Japanese Culture Convention, is themed around old school 80's gaming, the iconic pixelated sights and bit-crushed sounds that still bring joy to gamers of all ages.
Started in 1997 by the Rocky Mountain Anime Association, a registered 501(c)(4) nonprofit, NDK has grown from our early days at the Tivoli into a massive community event at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center that just gets bigger and better year after year. NDK is about community, and each year all profits go to charities that help those in need. NDK's supported charity of 2025 is Spark by Project Helping, a volunteer outreach group. Spark by Project Helping, finds volunteers from across the metro Denver willing to share their time and talents with individuals, families, and community groups. As an event brought together every year by over 250 volunteers, NDK is proud to support Spark the Change's mission to bring helping hands where they are needed.
Start the excitement early with our Thursday night Pre-Convention Charity Ball & Night Market on August 28th, a separate ticketed event supporting the Denver Cat Rescue. Then the games begin on Friday the 29th as our over 9,000 average daily attendees come together for 3 exciting days of events! Come see amazing and beautiful sights in our Art Gallery, Kimono Exhibit, and Model Show. Hear in-depth discussions with our Industry guests and community panels. Find something you'll love taking home in our gigantic Exhibitors Hall with talented local artists and a variety of vendors. Spend some time with this year's theme in our Gaming Areas, with over 20,000 sq ft of Arcade, Console, and Tabletop gaming space including Full immersion MechWarrior cockpit pods that let you feel the action. Explore delightful and exciting activities with our onsite Café run by the amazing staff of Dreamland Maid Café. And come see our incredible Itasha Car Show with over 20 lovingly decorated custom vehicles. See the wonderful adoptable shelter kittens at our Cat Café. Walk our beautiful Cherry Blossom Common Area full of interactive elements and community connections. And finally Head to our NDK Mainstage where you can see our fantastic Cosplay Contest, World Class AMV Contest, and the ever-popular Masquerave dance. This year as part of our retro theme, join us Friday for our Special 80's Night Kick off Concert by 6 Million Dollar Band!
