This Anime is just everything I imagined the manga to be, since I started reading the manga far early then watching this Anime. Animation is very well done, choice of Voice actors and soundtrack are really fitting. This realistic story helps Anime/Manga lovers to know the truth after "the concept of birth for a manga". I would like to say though that not being completely loyal to the manga and real names is starting to hurt the Anime. (Eng sub) |

I really like the choice of Voice actors they were good as I imagined them when reading the manga. However I just couldn't handle the Anime as much as I did the manga. Maybe because the manga was much more shorter and explained really good but I just couldn't watch this Anime after some time. (Eng sub) |

Winter 2011. When I first saw a picture of this Anime I thought, "great, another crap is coming by". Till now I was wrong. The Animation is good and original and definitely an eye catcher. Character design isn't that bad and the story is quite original. The sequences, especially the fighting were a little out of hand, you lose sight of what's going on on but considering this isn't mainstream action is not that important. Hope I don't lose interest like I did last season of newcomers. |

Winter 2011, so far one of the interesting ones. The character design may look like those from the 90's and "a future story" but I found it to be interesting and original both in concepts and story (So far). For those that like Anime, since ever, similarities with other Anime is striking (very Nadia like). That said I must praise the Animation which is very good and although character designs may be a bit old, I think they're satisfying enough. Gotta to see more to be certain of the rating I gave it. I really liked the design work and Animation, soundtrack was good but the story didn't grab my attention for some reason. The comedy is good but I think the romance part is what that pushed me away, it just didn't feel that catchy. When I heard of a new Saint Seiya I was like, OMG!!! then I saw the character/cloth design I still went OMG, but I added WTH after it.
People are butchering this Anime left, right and Center and after 10 episodes I can come to a review conclusion. I am a big of the original Saint Seiya but that said I could have easily stopped at ep1 but I gave it a chance to grow on me. It didn't. Saint Seiya had an epic plot (Masami Kuramada Shonen Jump what do you expect?) and Toei Animation's (forgetting those disaster of SS Movies) Animation and Voice Actors. They put the cherry on the cake with the last OVA as in my opinion Inferno, Elysium and Tenkai Hen were simply Epic.
But I can shout out loud that this Anime is in no way related to what we loved and freaked about in the past. The Cloth/Armor looks like kitchen gloves rubber, Power Rangers?. The Cosmo, the chi used by the Saints to attack now has an attribute like; water, fire or light, Pokemon much? There are flying horses in the sky, My little Pony? Ninja Saints, Naruto? Flowing of glue looking darkness, Bleach? Not to forget that armor that breaks gets miraculously fixed; oh and no more epic Armor that can turn into the Animal they represent. TOEI YOU FAILED!!
It feels like Saint Seiya meet Precure, another recent big series made by Toei AIMED FOR LITTLE GIRLS! The only thing that can somehow help to keep viewers is the story which spikes interest even though its hurt by cheap dialogues between characters and of course being constructed on an Anti-Saint Seiya feeling.
Overall: Old Saint Seiya fans don't waste your time with this crap. Toei failed to bring to a loyal world wide army of Saint Seiya Fans what we really wanted. Instead they went commercial to bring in new fans. And for all those that enjoy a great Anime and liked Omega, watch the Original Saint Seiya, that is a true Anime Masterpiece. (Jap Sub) |

Winter 2011, As expected from Madhouse, that animation and Character Artwork that attracts even those not interested in stories. So Wolverine is the Romeo in this love story, (say WHAT?) Dude its Wolverine, so its either a love story or his brother, which the ending theme gives a hopeful glimpse of. First episode lived up to the Marvel character. We'll see how far the writers will go, since in my opinion Iron Man turned a little too much Japanese. I didn't like the voice actor for Logan, maybe because I saw many American Animation with that gripping voice. But that aside it seems it lives up to the classic Wolverine story. Character art amazing, Not interested in these Comic turned Anime, I think Madhouse can do better. (Eng sub) |
