I wonder if Funi will go for this even though they never licensed the movie.

This key-image is just plain lazy, so lazy to the point saying they copy-paste most of girls' face is NOT an overstatement.

Cant say I like what Im seeing if the image is anything to go by but that image is showing spoiler content to anyone who hasn't read the LN.

My god this is one of the worst key visuals I've ever seen. I've seen absolute production disasters with passable or even good key visuals. |

They probably will. My guess is that the movie itself was probably too expensive for what they'd get, but a series that they can simuldub is probably more worthwhile. Companies are known to do things like pick up series, but not OVAs. With Garo, they were well into Vanishing Line before announcing the Divine Flame movie from the first series. It's possible the performance of this might sway them to get the movie.
Kurumi seems to be the only one who didn't get the memo that everyone was going to make the same expression. |

Given how huge a gap there has sometimes been in the past between when Funimation has announced acquiring a movie and when they are actually able to release it, it could be they've moved to holding off any such announcements until close to the release. That isn't to say that I believe they've licensed the movie, but simply to say that if they had, there is a good chance we wouldn't know. Also, if for some strange reason Funimation didn't license this, you can bet Crunchyroll will.
I hadn't read the LN, but I had already been spoiled on certain events, so I had pretty much the same reaction upon seeing that. |
