I wonder how a recap film can do so well. Is it because it includes a part of the Culling Game arc, or is that new fans are wanting to catch up before the next season starts? It could be both.

I can only speak for myself, but I will probably be going to watch this in the cinema, and it's NOT because of the recap movie. To me the appeal is solely watching the ~40 minutes of new material on a big screen.
