Samurai Flamenco to be Streamed from Thursday
posted on by Andrew Osmond
The second series to be streamed on the All the Anime website will be Samurai Flamenco (pictured). It will join the series Kill la Kill, part 1 of which is already available free to viewers in the UK, ROI and Isle of Man.
The announcement was made by UK Anime News, which specifies that the first episode will be streamed on All the Anime from Thursday October 10 from around 6:30 p.m. Samurai Flamenco is also the first series to be 'fully approved to appear on Wakanim's UK download-to-own and download-to-rent service.'
Both acquisitions are being streamed by All the Anime in advance of the new online broadcaster, Wakanim.co.uk (a British version of the French Wakanim.tv service), which is due to be launched in mid-October.
Samurai Flamenco's story follows Masayoshi Hazama (Toshiki Masuda), a man who becomes a superhero "by himself" without superpowers or technology, and Hidenori Goto (Tomokazu Sugita), a cop who finds out Hazama's true identity and thus constantly gets in trouble thanks to "the superhero." The anime's tagline reads, "To those 'adults' who don't want to become adults..." and "Hero will never give up, never hide, never be defeated, never accept evil." The show also stars Chie Nakamura as Sumi Ishihara, Juurouta Kosugi as Joji Kaname, Satoshi Mikami as Akira Konno, and Tōru Ohkawa as Jun Harazuka. The series will air for half a year,
Takahiro Ōmori (Natsume's Book of Friends, Baccano!, Princess Jellyfish) directs, while Chinatsu Kurahana (Uta no Prince-sama - Maji Love 1000%, Aquarion Evol original character designs) is designing the characters. Hideyuki Kurata (Oreimo, Now and Then, Here and There, The World God Only Knows) will handle the series composition, and Yoshimitsu Yamashita (Mushibugyō, Blade of the Immortal, Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~) will adapt Kurahana's character designs for animation. Manglobe (Samurai Champloo, Karneval, Deadman Wonderland) is producing the series. SPYAIR is performing the opening theme "Just One Life," and cast members Haruka Tomatsu, M.A.O, and Erii Yamazaki as their fictional idol group Mineral Miracle Muse will perform the ending song "Date TIME."
