No Game, No Life Event Cancels Handshaking With Fans

A live event celebrating the release of the No Game, No Life opening theme single "This Game" by Konomi Suzuki has cancelled the handshake with fans portion of its programming on Thursday due to "various circumstances." In addition, event staff will be performing checks of guests and their belongings.
AKB48 idol group members Anna Iriyama and Rina Kawaei, as well as a male staff member, were attacked by a saw-wielding man at a handshake event on Sunday, May 25. All three were successfully treated for their wounds.
The No Game, No Life event, which will be held on May 31 in Nagoya and June 1 in Osaka, will still include a talk show and a mini live concert with Konomi Suzuki. The event was also held on May 24 in Akihabara, where the handshake session still occurred.
