posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Comedic episode centers on quiz show

Crunchyroll began streaming a special episode for the Black Clover anime on Sunday. The episode, titled "The All Magic Knights Thanksgiving Festa" ("JSAF2018 Special Anime 'All Mahō Kishi Kanshasai'"), originally screened as part of this year's Jump Special Anime Festa event. The anime is also streaming on the dTV service in Japan. The special episode features the captains of the different squads plus Asta and Yuno participating in a quiz show.

This year's Jump Special Anime Festa event screened in Tokyo on November 25, and then in Sapporo, Sendai, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka on Sunday.

The event also screened a clay-animated short for Haikyu!!, a promotional video for the Dragon Ball Super: Broly film, an anime short for Hinomaru Zumō, and a One Piece video highlighting parts of the Luffy vs. Katakuri fight that have not yet aired. Videos for Kimetsu no Yaiba, The Promised Neverland, and Akuma no Memumemu-chan also screened.

Black Clover premiered in Japan in October 2017, and is ongoing. Crunchyroll is streaming the series in Japanese with English subtitles, and Funimation is streaming the show's English dub. The show debuted on Adult Swim's Toonami programming block in December 2017.

Tatsuya Yoshihara (Monster Musume, Yatterman Night, Muromi-san, Long Riders!) is directing the anime at Studio Pierrot. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Is the order a rabbit?, Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, Yatterman Night) is handling the series composition. Itsuko Takeda (Ristorante Paradiso, Level E, Blue Drop) is the character designer and Kumiko Tokunaga (2nd season of Kingdom) is the sub-character designer. Kosei Takahashi (key animation for Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Monster Hunter Stories RIDE ON) is the prop designer, Aiko Shinohara (Fairy Tail, The Heroic Legend of Arslan) is handling the color design, and Minako Seki (The Silver Guardian, both seasons of Kingdom) is composing the music.
