The Southeast's largest convention for all things anime returns to Orlando on Thursday, March 30 to Sunday, April 2, 2023


ORLANDO, FLA. - Anime fans, get ready for an action-packed weekend at MEGACON Orlando 2023! Snap selfies, receive autographs and attend Q&A panels with the voices behind legendary characters from My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, Dragon Ball, and more on Thursday, March 30 to Sunday, April 2. Plus, fans can experience can't-miss programming throughout the weekend, including a unique opportunity to meet Hirokatsu Kihara, former Chief Production Officer at Studio Ghibli.

Meet The Voices That Bring Anime To Life

Get know the stars that bring fan-favorite characters to life with appearances from “My Hero Academia” cast members Christopher Sabat (All Might), Justin Briner (Izuku Midoriya), Colleen Clinkenbeard (Momo Yaoyorozu), Luci Christian (Ochaco Uraraka), Kellen Goff (Overhaul) and Ian Sinclair (Mezou Shouji). Plus, meet “Demon Slayer's” Zach Aguilar (Tanjiro Kamado), Aleks Le (Zenitsu Agatsuma) and Abby Trott (Nezuko Kamado); as well as Suzie Yeung, the voice of Makima in “Chainsaw Man;” and Dragon Ball's Sonny Strait (Krillin).

A Rare Chance to Meet Studio Ghibli's Hirokatsu Kihara

Throughout the weekend, take advantage of a unique opportunity to meet Hirokatsu Kihara, former Chief Production Officer at Studio Ghibli. Admission to this intimate VIP experience is $50, and includes a private Q&A where fans can view key pieces of his animation artwork collection. Kiraha-sensei is making a rare U.S. appearance to help educate fans about the art and history behind the process of classic anime. He possesses one of the largest private collections of hand drawn artwork by artists from Topcraft and Studio Ghibli in the 1980s. This includes artwork from “Castle in the Sky,” “Kiki's Delivery Service,” “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind,” and, celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, “My Neighbor Totoro.” Fans will also be able to receive an autograph and take a photo with Kiraha-sensei.

Check Out A Japanese-Style Maid Cafe

Maid Café Mikkusu welcomes MEGACON Orlando fans to experience an Akihabara-style maid café presentation similar to the ones in Japan. For $25, fans can enjoy coffee or tea, a Maid Café Mikkusu decal, a kawaii meet and greet with the maids, a short stage performance, games, and other immersive elements.

Play Unique Japanese Video Games

Part museum, part interactive experience, Wasabi Anime's Japanese Video Game room showcases consoles and games from the 1980s onward. Imported from Japan, fans will have the chance to play anime-based games they might not have ever experienced before!

Check Out The Itasha Car Exhibit

Itasha is a sub-culture of the car community that focuses on decorating vehicles with anime characters or series. This style originated from Japan in the mid-2000s and continues to grow in popularity. These colorful and unique cars will be located throughout MEGACON Orlando for fans to view and enjoy.
