Ooh, I'll have to dedicate some time to rewatching this with the English audio. Chris Patton's work is so great and it's been a while since I've been able to hear him in anything.

Exactly what I was going to say! I love Chris, but I haven't heard him in anything recent in awhile. I can't wait to watch! Hope the dub's good, but I see a lot of great names here so I'm not too worried:D

Good to see that this thread isn't as negative as some other dub announcements. Personally, I'm looking forward to this dub and I'm glad to see Chris Patton in the lead. I've always enjoyed the majority of his work.

I'm currently watching Un-Go, which was also directed by Stephen Foster, and its very good. I'm hoping Kids on the Slope is at least as good.

Explain Guin Saga part 2.

EXPLAIN IT. Evil or Very Mad

No Steve Blum in a Wantanabe dub means it's a no go for me.

Steve pretty much takes CB and SC from being decent dubs, to being wonderful dubs.

None the less though I am hoping the dub will turn out decent. KOTS deserves a good dub, but then again so did Penquin Drum, and we all know how that turned out...sigh, at this point i'm just going to hope Funimation starts getting more shows i'm interested in then Sentai so I won't have to worry as much.

I'd rather have a use the same dozen VA's every time watchable dub from Funi then a "OMG WHY SETNTAI!? WHY!? Dub from Foster, but thats just me.

Anywho, hopefully i'm panicking for no reason and the dub turns out fine, but gonna keep expectations low.

Well clearly you haven't seen episode nine of Penguindrum its one of the most impressive english dubbed episodes of last year. Here is an example of the great voice work in the Penguindrum dub. This clip proves that Foster is very capable of producing great voice work when his heart is in the right place.

Well, so much for watching this dubbed.

Dude, no one disrespects the Patton.

Well, clearly somebody does, because I just did. He's not that good.

I have to disagree with you. His Greed in FMA and FMA:B were pretty great.

He also was Tatsuhiro Satō in the FANTASTIC dub of Welcome to the NHK.

So, yeah. He's actually pretty good.

Wow! I had no idea Steve Blum could voice a 16/17 year old kid. I do not get this obsession to have Blum in the Kids on the Slope dub. In my opinion Blum might have worked as Junichi or Ritsuko's dad, but not as Sentaro. Just because a voice actor is good, it does not mean he/she can voice any character.

Blum's actually played much younger characters before (Kenta from Digimon Tamers and JP from Digimon Frontier, anyone?).

I just started watching the Inu x Boku dub and Patton's quite good in the lead role. Actually, Hillary Haig's good in her lead role too. Their delivery is pretty entertaining by itself, which is good as the show needs all the help it can get.

Oh yes, this isn't a Patton thread. Kids on the Slope? What, do I have to watch it again? Pass.

You mean explain only 5-8min of gag dub out of 300min of a solid or above performance. If Steven would have dropped the ball, would'nt he have done it for the entire remaining 13 episods and made into another Ghost Stories?

I say they were blooper reels that accidently gotten into the final product. Which is commen for sentai filmworks with lip-flap problems, cut audio, etc. Yet after Guin Saga we have not seen any more problems like that, coincidence Shocked ? ...............maybe if you count penguindrum with some minor complains from me before episode 9.

Right because EVERY single dub he's done is terrible.... Rolling Eyes he's not a 4kids director. Out of the 11 dubs i've heard of his i've only disliked penguindrums and HOTD. Everything else was fine. (guin saga from the clips i've heard were horrible though). Anwyay KOTS was decent/good. Might get it but eh.

Hey now not all the 4Kids ADR directors were terrible. Darrel Dunstan was decent. Laughing

@DivineKing There is no decent ADR director from 4kids, because every single one of their dubs has terrible, terrible voice acting. There are no positive aspects about any 4kids dub. This includes Pokemon. Thanks to that dub, most non Asian dubs are based off that and even the Indonesian and Filipino English dubs are based off that. It's no better than the Yu-Gi-Oh/One Piece dubs, yet people tend to bash 4kids out for doing their business with those shows, but when it's done with Pokemon, 4kids is our hero. Even the terrible TPCi dub is the lesser of two evils.

Says you. I actually rather enjoyed the Ultimate Muscle dub, thank you very much.

Who's the ADR director anyway? Do we even know?

As for me I'm happy Sentai keeps getting titles I'm interested it. I need not hear another Funi-factory/generic dub.

That's a bit harsh calling Funimation's dubs generic I would suggest you check out Steins;Gate its one of the best dubs from last year that was produced by Funimation. The ADR director for Kids on the Slope is Steven Foster.
